Truth And Righteousness

According to Mahatma Gandhi: "There is no religion higher than Truth and Righteousness. If we commit sins with the name of God on our lips, can we hope to win the grace of God? Suppose one man admits the existence of God, but lives a life of falsehood and immorality, while another knows not the name of God but lives a life of truth and virtue, can there be any doubt as to which should be regarded truly religious as well as moral?" Truth And Righteousness In Action

According to the Apostle Paul: "For God shows no partiality. For all who have sinned without the law will also perish without the law, and all who have sinned under the law will be judged by the law. For it is not the hearers of the law who are righteous before God, but the doers of the law who will be justified. For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do what the law requires, they are a law to themselves, even though they do not have the law. They show that the work of the law is written on their hearts, while their conscience also bears witness, and their conflicting thoughts accuse or even excuse them on that day when, according to my gospel, God judges the secrets of men by Christ Jesus." (Romans 2:11-16, ESV)

Our Actions Speak Louder Than Our Words

It's been 13,840 days or 37 years, 10 months and 22 days since Roe vs. Wade. Earlier this year, according to an insightful Washington Times article (http://bit.ly/cUOVsi), Planned Parenthood (PP) admitted to legally killing more than 1.8 million pre-born babies between 2002 and 2008 alone. Is there really any question in our minds where legalized, U.S. taxpayer funded abortion is leading us? Both Paul and Gandhi have a point. In light of the biblical truth that the pre-born child is a human being created in the image of God (i.e., a person), I wonder if our actions as leaders defending the lives of women and children reflect the routinely religious robotics of the rearward or the mien of morally mighty men of divine majesty fighting for the sanctity of life.
