The Power of Portrait
Jennifer Rego Live Action's Blog entitled: "The Power of a Portrait" is a very powerful piece of literary prowess that proves a picture is indeed worth a thousand words. This old adage contends that a complex idea can be convincingly conveyed and understood with just a single still image. Russian writer Ivan Turgenev wrote (in Fathers and Sons in 1862), "A picture shows me at a glance what it takes dozens of pages of a book to expound." As I look at this picture of a ten (10) week old baby, it is abundantly clear to me that Jennifer Rego is right when she says: "Photography is a medium that forges a unique connection, a relationship, between the observer and the one photographed, precisely it does not show an abstract idea, or a generalized model, but a real, and unique person, that if you had encountered in real life, would have been exactly the same." [1]
The Power of Personhood
Personhood is a Pro-Life strategy working to respect the God-given right to life by recognizing all human beings as persons who are "created in the image of God" from the beginning of their biological development, without exceptions. Personhood desires to glorify Jesus Christ in a way that creates a culture of life so that all innocent human lives, including this 10-week old baby, are protected by love and by law. Personhood serves the pro-life community by assisting local groups to initiate citizen, legislative, and political action focusing on the ultimate goal of the pro-life movement: personhood rights for all innocent humans. Personhood intends to END ABORTION by building the support of at least two thirds of the states in an effort to reaffirm personhood within the U.S. Constitution. [2]
The Power of a Threefold Cord
My friends at LIFEsocal believe: "Life Is For Everyone! No Exceptions. No Compromises. No Apologies." Their primary goal is to inform and motivate teens and young adults in Southern California to believe in LIFE, stand up or LIFE, and fight for LIFE, with the hope of ENDING ABORTION. It will be my privilege and pleasure to join LIFEsocal in their Walk4Life, Sunday, March 27th, 2011, Rose Bowl, Pasadena, California. [3] In Ecclesiastes 4:12 King Solomon reminds LIFEsocal and I that by ourselves we're unprotected. And with each other we can face the worst. However, if we can encourage a third party to stand with us to end abortion on Sunday, March 27th, 2011 in the Rose Bowl, the power of the Body of Christ coming together, like a threefold cord, will surely reign victorious. So, I'm inviting everyone to join us in Southern California in March. I want to see everyone there.
Brothers, we really need to talk.
