Nonviolence or Nonexistence

"Today there is no longer a choice between violence and nonviolence. It is either nonviolence or nonexistence. I feel that we've got to look at this total thing anew and recognize that we must live together. That the whole world now it is one--not only geographically but it has to become one in terms of brotherly concern. Whether we live in America or Asia or Africa we are all tied in a single garment of destiny and whatever effects one directly, effects one in-directly.

I'm concerned about living with my conscience and searching for that which is right and that which is true, and I cannot live with the idea of being just a conformist following a path that everybody else follows. And this has happened to us. As I've said in one of my books, so often we live by the philosophy 'Everybody's doing it, it must be alright.' We tend to determine what is right and wrong by taking a sort of Gallup poll of the majority opinion, and I don't think this is the way to get at what is right.

Arnold Toynbee talks about the creative minority and I think more and more we must have in our world that creative minority that will take a stand for that which conscience tells them is right, even though it brings about criticism and misunderstanding and even abuse."

Woman No Tie
"Few will have the greatness to bend history itself; but each of us can work to change a small portion of events, and in the total of all those acts will be written the history of this generation." — Robert F. Kennedy

All of our events strongly adhere to and enforce the "Nonviolent" philosophy embraced by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.  If you cannot remain nonviolent, please do not attend our events.

Who: Pro-life individuals, groups and organizations are invited to attend the service to join in the Offering of Roses. Each rose is offered in remmberance of the more than one and a half million babies aborted each year since the Roe v. Wade decision by the Supreme Court in 1973.

What: The power of prayer should not be underestimated. James 5:16 — 18 declares, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective."

The power of prayer is not the result of the person praying. Rather, the power resides in the God who is being prayed to. 1 John 5:14 — 15 tells us, "This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us — whatever we ask — we know that we have what we asked of him."

No matter the person praying, the passion behind the prayer, or the purpose of the prayer — God answers prayers that are in agreement with His will. His answers are not always yes, but are always in our best interest.

Why: When our desires line up with His will, we will come to understand that in time. When we pray passionately and purposefully, according to God's will, God responds powerfully!
