Conflict Of Interest

In the abortion debate, is there a "Conflict of Interest"
within the Black community and among her leaders?

Silence In The Black Church

The silence in the Black American Church regarding the evil of abortion is killing us. The numbers reflecting the impact of abortion in the Black American community are horrifying. From 1882 until 1968 (86 years), 3,446 Black Americans were lynched by the Ku Klux Klan here in the United States. Today, that number is surpassed in 3.4 days by abortion in the Black community.

Highest Abortion Rate In The Country

The Alan Guttmacher Institute (AGI) says the abortion rate for black women is almost five times that for white women. Sixty-nine percent (69%) of pregnancies among black women are unintended. When you do the math, every 86 seconds of every single day of the year in America, a black baby is aborted.

Is Poverty The Reason?

AGI goes on to say sixty-nine percent (69%) of the women who obtain abortions make less than $21,660 annually. Yet, the Bible teaches that poverty is NOT responsible for sin. I wonder what AGI is trying to say about poor women (i.e., minority women). In turn, I wonder what these numbers say about how we meet the needs of women and children.

Brothers, we really need to talk.
